Megan English
Contemporary Dance, Movement TherapyMegan English is a Toronto based dance artist.
A graduate of York University's Dance Program, she has performed and presented work at many Toronto venues and series. Her solo, 'This Dance is Mic'ed', was shown in Dance Matters, A Woman's Work. (Toronto, 2008) Megan was a member of the dance theatre company Zephyr in Zanussi while living in England from 2003 until 2005. She performed with the company at London's Resolutions!, the Chelsey Theatre and the Chichester Fringe. She dances in The Great Lake Swimmers video for their song, 'Backstage with the Modern Dancers.' Megan has danced in the works of diverse choreographers such as: Susie Burpee, Barbara Lindenberg and Meagan O'Shea. This past fall, she performed with writer Kathleen Brown at Summerworks Theatre Festival and at the Junction Arts Festival with poet Gili Haimovich. She is currently performing at the Art Gallery of Ontario in Tino Sehgal's 'Kiss'. Her dance project based on the silent films of Nell Shipman was supported by the Toronto Arts Council. (2009)
